Australian Medical Student Journal

The Australian Medical Student Journal (AMSJ) is an academic publication that accepts submissions from all Australian medical students, as well as students studying medically-related disciplines. It is the first undertaking of its kind in Australia. It is staffed entirely by medical students and is based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney.

The AMSJ strives for the academic rigour and quality of a major academic journal, although seeks to publish content that will be of particular appeal to a medical student readership. Submission types accepted are original research articles, review articles, case reports, feature articles (essays, conference reports, elective reports), book reviews, and letters/news.

I had the idea for this journal in early 2009, and set about founding it with two colleagues and friends, Hassan Ahmad and Timothy Yang. We now have an amazing volunteer staff of around 20 people. Currently, the journal is in the process of producing its first issue.

Please visit the journal's website to find out more: http://www.amsj.org.

Please join the Facebook group for the journal and invite your friends to promote it!
